EnLink's technological prowess has been demonstrated by its 13 patents. For example, EnLink’s proprietary Coiled Tubing Unit (CTU) is used for simultaneously installing a plastic pipe loop and a grout tremmie pipe into a previously drilled hole, and then grouting the pipe loop in the wellbore as the tremmie pipe is withdrawn. This technology ensures that a wellbore is completely grouted from the bottom of the hole to the top.
This process, and the EnLink U-bend used in the process, is protected under the following U.S. patents:
Patent Numbers
5,590,715 Underground Heat Exchange System
5,758,724 Underground Heat Exchange System
6,041,862 Ground Heat Exchange System
6,860,320 B2 Bottom Member and Heat Loops
6,672,371 B1 Earth Heat Exchange System
6,585,036 B2 Energy Systems
6,955,219 B2 Earth Loop Installation with Sonic Drilling
7,093,657 B2 Earth Loop Installed with Sonic Apparatus
7,270,182 B2 Earth Loop Installed with Sonic Apparatus
In addition, EnLink has developed a superior method of drilling EHX well bores using its patented sonic technology. This method enables EnLink to drill and keep holes open in all types of soil conditions and geology.
EHX Heat Pump Meter
EnLink also has patented a unique method of metering the amount of energy extracted from or rejected to the earth in EHX heat pump installations. Accurate metering enables invoicing an end user, or allocation of charges to multiple end users if desired. This process is protected under the following U.S. patents:Patent Numbers
6,250,371
6,276,438 B1
6,585,036 B2
In Development
EnLink’s is currently developing an exclusive system for increasing the efficiency of EHX heat pump systems by utilizing excess heat generated by air conditioning systems to generate electricity, reducing the heat load on the EHX system. This process is protected under the following U.S. patent:
Patent Number 6,694,766 B1 Power generation with Earth Heat Systems
International Patents
Several of the above patents have been approved by countries participating in international treaties governing such patent authorization throughout Europe and in major industrialized countries around the world.
