Management Team

EnLink’s management team includes experts from the GHP industry, plus technologists and executives who have worked with a variety of companies. The team brings fiscal responsibility and stability to the company through their experience as senior managers, operations managers, and presidents and/or CEOs of major U.S. companies.



Javier Fernandez
Senior Vice President, Finance

Mr. Fernandez has more than 19 years experience in the financial sector, running and overseeing the financial functions of national private and publically held companies. As Senior Vice President of Finance, he has the overall responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the company’s financial reporting as well as strategic planning of policies affecting the company’s bottom line. He has diverse experience in real-estate development, entertainment, government and public relations industry sectors. Prior to joining EnLink, he served as VP of Finance for a national public relations firm and held several growth-oriented positions with some of California's leading companies. He began his career as senior auditor for the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, where he was part of an elite national task force responsible for the design, implementation and consultation of new auditing and national financial review policies for the agency.

Mr. Fernandez earned his BA in Business Administration, Accounting and Minor in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton in 1991




Howard “Buzz” Johnson

Technical Advisor

Mr. Johnson has more than 30 years experience in engineering, technical design and development related to the drilling industry. As EnLink’s technical adviser, he is involved in equipment and product development and geothermal system installation. Mr. Johnson has extensive expertise in all areas of drilling and geothermal installation: loop field design, feasibility studies, thermal conductivity tests, system installation, product development and maintenance assistance.He was instrumental in the development of EnLink’s sonic drill rigs, which are much quicker than conventional rotary drill rigs and have the ability to drill though any overburden materials. His designs include EnLink’s patented coiled tubing unit (CTU). This diesel/hydraulic coiled tubing, grout mixing and pumping machine has resulted in a fourfold productivity increase in the completion of vertical heat exchanger boreholes.

Mr. Johnson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech in 1971




Richard Butler

Director of Sales and Marketing

Mr. Butler is responsible for sales and marketing for EnLink Geoenergy and actively markets the company to the public and private sectors, pursuing bid-spec work as well as design-build opportunities. He is likewise involved in other aspects of EnLink’s business including project management and estimating. Mr. Butler has spent significant time in the field and is very familiar with the technical aspects of geo exchange projects. He has helped to build the project management infrastructure and is actively involved in field hiring practices. Prior to joining EnLink, Mr. Butler spent two years with the Teach For America program, helping to grow the TFA corps in Atlanta and assisting a developing elementary school meet its No Child Left Behind goals.

Mr. Butler graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in 2005.




Albert Escobedo

Associate

Mr. Escobedo is responsible for industry and technical research and analysis for EnLink. Mr. Escobedo researches and publishes EnLink’s newsletter, is involved in EnLink’s marketing processes, and conducts savings and economic analysis on EnLink projects. While at UCLA, Mr. Escobedo took part in the design and implementation of a separation unit used for liquid-liquid extraction. He was also part of a research team developing a non-lithographic method of nanopatterning, involving photocatalytic reduction of surface ligands by electorphoretically controlled semiconductor quantum dots.

Mr. Escobedo graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering.
