EnLink has a dramatically better way to drill holes
for large-scale EHXs. EnLink's fit-to-purpose drill rig, using proven
technologies and optimized for large scale GHP projects, enables
EnLink to efficiently drill small-diameter holes several hundred
feet deep in a wide variety of soil conditions – even under
extremely challenging conditions where casing would be required.

The EnLink
Drill
With its technical talent developed over decades in oilfield and geotechnical services, EnLink met an industry challenge head-on and designed a "fit-to-purpose" drill rig specifically optimized for high production of GHP boreholes in any soil condition. |
The patented EnLink drilling process is an important step in the evolution of the EnLink system: a suite of technologies exclusively focused on efficient design and installation of EHXs. EnLink's highly efficient loop insertion and grouting systems have been
successfully utilized for over five years, and remain part of the EnLink system as they are integrated with the use of the EnLink drill.
|
Providers of drilling services on GHP projects typically use drilling equipment developed for other applications, mainly water well drilling. In EnLink's experience, these drilling technologies are not optimal for high production rate requirements (i.e., several hundred wells on a single site) associated with GHP installations for commercial/institutional sites. |
The lack
of a consistent solution to the drilling difficulties produce
cost overruns and delays in large-scale GHP project completion,
leading either to dissatisfied Enlink customers or
abandonment of projects at the feasibility stage.
The EnLink Drill employs an innovative
integration of components, including a multi-function drill
head and automated rod/pipe handling and casing methods. The components
have been individually demonstrated over many years in challenging
applications. With EnLink’s proprietary design, the drill
operator simply selects the correct features and tools for
the job at hand and consistently achieves maximum production rates,
no matter what soil condition is encountered.
In commonly encountered unstable
soil or overburden conditions, the EnLink Drill prevents
the borehole from collapsing on itself by simultaneously
inserting casing into the hole as the drill penetrates the
earth, to ensure that the bored hole will remain open for
the looping and grouting steps.
The use of the EnLink Drill will provide greater
assurance that drilling rates can be achieved in a wide variety
of geologic conditions – mitigating common project
delays and price adjustments as difficulties or changing geologies are encountered.
The EnLink Drill allows your
projects to be competitively priced, because the EnLink System
is cost-competitive in virtually any condition. We complete
EHXs where other drillers cannot readily or economically perform. |
